Elephant Sessions finished off an incredible year for the band in great style at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2017 held in Paisley’s Lagoon Centre on 2nd December.

The release of their album ‘All We Have is Now’ in June of this year heralded the start of a summer of appearances at some of Europe’s most notable festivals. Audiences crowd surfed their way through the summer and marquee floors broke under the weight of bouncing fans.

The Mercury nominated Alt J, along with BBC Radio 6 found themselves converted to the band’s unique brand of indie folk. Reviews from Rolling Stone Magazine sat alongside folk magazine coverage. Radio features accompanied documentaries and highlights shows on television stations.

Charting in the French download charts and selling bucket loads across Europe ‘All We Have is Now’ has firmly established this band as completely unique.

The band topped all this off by walking away with ‘the most coveted award’ at this years Scots Trad Awards, Album of the Year 2017. This was richly deserved for a young band who’s album was entirely self financed.

Elephant Sessions finished off the night with a storming set which had some of the most important people in the Scottish cultural scene up dancing in front of the stage.
